Free fishing days provide anglers a great opportunity to introduce someone to the sport of fishing. In case you missed it, Governor Rick Scott announced additional license-free fishing days for 2014.
Florida’s recreational freshwater and saltwater fishing industry has an $8.9 billion economic impact and supports nearly 80,000 jobs. Fishing is a great way to encourage healthy and active-outdoor fun. By having license-free fishing days, it helps grow the industry and promotes conservation stewardship.
There will be eight license-free fishing days per year and the requirement to have a recreational fishing license will be waived for residents and visitors. All other fishing and boating rules and regulations will still apply.
